The India Game Developer Conference (IGDC) has announced its expansion of Developer Day to seven Indian cities. Following a successful run in Kochi, Chennai, and Guwahati in 2023, this year Developer Day is taking place in Delhi (8 May), Pune (14 May), Ahmedabad (17 May), Cochin (30 May), Chennai (28 May), Guwahati (24 May), and Kolkata (22 May).
With this expansion, developers will have the opportunity to connect with other developers and industry leaders within closer proximity, fostering collaboration and innovation across the country.
Along with the IGDC Developer Day, global video game commerce company Xsolla will conduct Forward Night in Bengaluru — providing a platform for game developers and industry leaders to connect, upskill and showcase their gaming skills. The initiative will feature daily presentations where game developers and industry executives discuss the latest trends and opportunities in the Indian game industry, and will be followed by a networking session. Forward Night is hosted by IGDC and co-sponsored by Com2us Platform, Nazara.
In conjunction with the Developer Day announcement, the event will be introducing the Game Developers Association of India (GDAI), the formation of an association to serve as an advocate for the interests of game developers on legislative, regulatory, and industry matters. GDAI aims to empower its members by offering educational resources, and professional development opportunities, and promoting ethical and responsible game development practices.
IGDC will be announcing the IGDC Women in Games initiative to foster a more welcoming environment for women in the gaming industry. This program will provide targeted opportunities to attract and retain female talent and bridge the gap, and will ensure a safe and supportive space for all aspiring game developers, regardless of gender.
Nazara Technologies has returned as the Diamond sponsor with Xsolla, Com2Us Platform, and MPL as Gold Sponsors of IGDC. PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, STPI, MESC, Kerala StartUp Mission, UID, MIT WPU, and K-Tech have joined the event as associate sponsors.
