PlayStation's India Hero Project

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced the second cohort of India Hero Project (IHP) – its India-centric incubator program which identifies and supports emerging game developers from the region. Submissions for the program are now open.

One-person companies as well as larger studios can submit applications for IHP. As part of this program, SIE assists teams in building high-quality games for PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2 and PC through mentorship from industry leaders in the areas of technical art, design, production, and general insights into the business of making games.

The first cohort of IHP took place in May 2023 and in February this year, SIE announced five Indian games that it selected for launching on PlayStation.

Below are the details of the submissions for the second cohort:

  • Deadline: The submission period will conclude by 31 July 2024 (IST).
  • Requirements: All submission packages, including the pitch, budget, and demo, must be submitted by 31 July 2024. It is crucial for applicants to ensure that their submissions are comprehensive and address all necessary components.
  • Previous cohort applicants: Applicants from the previous cohort can submit applications for new games in the second cohort. IHP applications submitted from October 2023 are considered for the second cohort.
  • Evaluation of previous cohort games: Games evaluated in the first cohort will not be reevaluated for subsequent cohorts, unless substantial changes have been made to the existing game.
  • Post submission date: Submissions received after July 2024 will be assessed for the next cohort of the IHP.

Companies can submit their applications on PlayStation’s IHP website.
