With just over a month before the game’s launch on 6 June 2023, Diablo IV has officially reached gold status. The highly anticipated game is the fourth instalment in the genre-defining series, bringing the dark world of Sanctuary to players once more.
Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson said, “Going gold is a landmark milestone for the incredible Diablo IV team, who have all worked so hard crafting the next-generation instalment of this iconic franchise. This is a concrete, meaningful step toward our 6 June launch. Whether players are veterans of the franchise or jumping in for the first time, we can’t wait for everyone to experience the full game: taking part in the incredible storytelling, experimenting with character classes and builds, and exploring what the endgame and the dark world of Sanctuary have to offer.”
“Going Gold” is the videogame industry term for announcing when the development on the game’s launch build is finished, meaning this live service game has made an important step in shipping to players worldwide. In Diablo IV, players can join the fight to save the dark and gothic world of Sanctuary from the Blessed Mother Lilith, battling demonic hordes of monsters along the way.
