Warner Bros. has once again postponed a video game based on the Suicide Squad comic book franchise, moving its May release date to later this year; person with direct knowledge of the situation told Bloomberg.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will originally scheduled for release in 2022, the multiplayer shooter game featuring a cast of comic book anti-heroes—was postponed to 2023 at the beginning of the year. It was announced for release on 26May last fall by London-based developer Rocksteady Studios. It was unclear when the fresh release would come.
A request for response from a Warner spokesperson was not immediately responded with. Suicide Squad was unveiled at a PlayStation presentation in February, but fans criticised it for having service components like buyable cosmetics and an online necessity.
The source, who asked to remain anonymous since the conversation involved private information, claimed that the delay was required primarily to repair bugs and advance game elements that were lagging behind and would not significantly alter the fundamental gameplay that had caused the criticism.
Hogwarts Legacy, the first game released by Warner in 2023, has been a huge hit, selling more than 12 million copies despite widespread criticism of J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series.
